The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has announced that come next year, the travel and tourism sector in Japan will receive a significant economic boost to achieve near pre-pandemic levels.
By the end of 2023, it is forecasted, according to the WTTC’s Economic Impact Report (EIR) that the country’s GDB could reach Y40 trillion, just 2.2% lower than 2019 figures. More than 23,000 jobs are also predicted for next year and over 683,000 jobs within the next decade, averaging 68,000 jobs yearly, reaching more than 6.2 million persons by the end of 2032.
