An 18-year-old suspect has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 13-year-old Melchizedek Gilbert Tixcy in Blanchard, Desruisseaux.
The Royal St Lucia Police Force’s Major Crimes Unit (MCU) led the investigation into the incident, which occurred on July 31, 2024.
Markaley Simeon, also of Blanchard Desruisseaux, was arrested on August 2, 2024 on suspicion of committing the murder.
On August 8, 2024, detectives formally charged Simeon with causing Tixcy’s death. Following a bail hearing, he was remanded in custody.
