Pierre Targets Opposition, Calls for Unity Amid Political Acrimony

Prime Minister Phillip J Pierre urged citizens to reject political divisiveness and embrace unity. Pierre warned that opportunists promote hatred and revenge, using political tribalism to fracture the nation. “Let us reject political divisiveness and acrimony,” he stated. “They will join hands and plot with anyone who plans to destroy our country.”

His remarks targeted the Opposition, which has criticized the government over MSR Media’s lawsuit involving St Lucia’s CIP. The UWP questioned issues like alleged passport underselling and potential risks to banking and visa access.

Opposition Leader Allen Chastanet clashed with Investment Minister Dr Ernest Hilaire over the CIP at a Chamber of Commerce event. Following the exchange, the UWP called for Hilaire’s resignation.

“We must always remember that our strength lies in our unity,” Pierre concluded.
