On Monday, June 13th, 2022 officers attached to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Soufriere Police Station received a distress call in regards to a shooting on Bridge Street, Soufriere at approximately 8:50 am.
The victim was identified as twenty-eight-year-old Shanda Paul Lucien of Delieu Street, Soufriere.
Lucien was transported to the Soufriere Hospital with apparent gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
On Thursday, May 4th, 2023 Francis Popo of Deville, Soufriere was arrested and charged with the murder of Shanda Paul Lucien. On Friday, May 5th, 2023 Popo was escorted to the Second District Court where he was remanded in custody until a later date.
