The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has confirmed that what appears to be human remains have been found in the vehicle belonging to Omar Defreitas on Tuesday, April 18th, 2023.
On Friday, January 6th, 2023 Omar Defreitas and his vehicle disappeared after he left a staff party at the Sandals Golf and Country Club at Cap Estate.
It is confirmed that the vehicle found partially submerged 300 yards away from the country club belongs to Omar Defreitas.
However, Deputy Commissioner Ronald Philip says at this time investigators are unable to determine whether the remains are that of Omar Defreitas.
“That is the missing vehicle but I cannot say that’s Omar Defreitas until there’s some level of forensic analysis.” the commissioner told reporters on Tuesday.
He says the body found is decomposed and can’t be identified without forensic analysis.
