Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School was deemed the first ever Island Champs Champions at the Island Champs formally known as the Inter Sec competition which was held on Friday, March 31st, 2023 at the Soufriere Mini Stadium.
The competition was aimed at encouraging communities and schools islandwide to get involved with a cash prize of Forty Thousand Dollars to be won.
On Monday, April 3rd, 2023 Minister for Youth Development and Sports Hon. Kenson Casimir took the opportunity to congratulate the Vieux Fort Comprehensive Second School on their victory.
“Congratulations to Vieux Fort first ever island champions. Newly rebranded Inter Sec competition and we certainly looking forward to next year being even bigger and better.” he said.
The Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School was victorious in the overall Championship, along with winning the male championship and came in second in the female championship.
The minister says schools have gone back to the drawing board and have commenced training for next year’s competition.
