The first of three training workshops conducted by the health ministry aimed to impact knowledge on the fundamentals of early recognition and management of health emergencies has commenced.
With notable room for improvement in the delivery of service to mothers and babies, the ministry for health facilitated the workshop where participants were taught the management of obstetric emergencies.
The workshop serves as preparation for the launch of Maternal Child Health Services which is aimed at increasing accessibility to health services under the Universal Health Coverage initiative.
In attendance were the community nurses and health practitioners from various wellness centers around the island.
Participants attending the workshops are expected to share their knowledge acquired to other community nurses and mid wives at the wellness centers.
