Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia – September 15, 2024 – On Monday 9 September, St. Jude Hospital marked the 15th anniversary of the devastating fire that impacted our facility. While we remember the challenges of that day, we also celebrate the resilience of our staff, the unwavering support of the community, and the ongoing commitment to providing high-quality healthcare to the people of Saint Lucia.
Over the past 15 years, St. Jude Hospital has undergone a remarkable journey of rebuilding, adapting, and innovating. Our dedicated staff, who demonstrated remarkable courage and commitment in the aftermath of the fire, have consistently aimed to deliver quality care, ensuring that the community’s healthcare needs are met. We express our deepest gratitude to each and every member of our team for their unwavering dedication to patient care.
We are also incredibly grateful to the people of Saint Lucia for their continued trust and support throughout this challenging period. Your belief in our mission has fueled our determination to rebuild and provide an even better healthcare experience for all.
As we mark this anniversary, we are filled with hope and anticipation for the commissioning of our new state-of-the-art facility. This new hospital, equipped with cutting-edge technology and designed with patient safety, comfort and appropriateness of care as top priorities, represents a significant milestone in our journey. As a hospital, we hold on to the hope that this will be the last anniversary at the George Odlum site, and we are confident that the new facility in Augier will serve as a beacon of hope and progress for the people of Saint Lucia for many years to come.
