Saint Lucia recorded its 56th homicide after an execution-style killing in Fond Assau, Babonneau. The victim, Kestan Delaire, had survived two prior shootings but was not as fortunate this time.
Around 3.30a.m. on September 2, masked gunmen disguised as police knocked on Delaire’s door. When Delaire’s mother answered, the assailants ordered her, Delaire’s pregnant girlfriend, and others in the home to lie on the floor. The gunmen stated they were targeting Delaire, who was recovering from surgery.
They then opened fire on Delaire, killing him instantly.
The community is reeling from the brutal attack. Police are investigating.
