The St Lucia Boxing Association (SLBA) is back in action after clinching the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Championship. The SLBA has sent a team of 10 athletes to the 2024 Winfield Braithwaite Schoolboys Tournament in Guyana.
The team consists of boxers aged 9 – 17. They include Herve Charlemagne, Orlando Monrose, Kirt Kirton, Elroy Canchon, Joshua Rene, Lammend Alexander, Nervon Mederick, Dev’il Sealy, and Denzel Stephens. The tournament runs from August 16 – 19.
SLBA President David “Shakes” Christopher says the event aligns with the organization’s goals to give young boxers valuable exposure and ring time.
The delegation is led by Shannon Lebourne, who shares managerial duties with Christopher.
