The Department of Education announced that on Thursday, June 22, 2023, all educational instruction will be suspended and schools will remain closed.
This decision was taken in light of the impending passage of Tropical Storm Bret which is expected to make landfall by Thursday at 8:00 am.
The Department of Education trusts that all necessary pre-disaster activities would have taken place, including plans for possible preoccupation of school compounds for emergency shelter.
The public is urged to pay attention to information forecasts from the Saint Lucia Meteorological Service and remain safe.
