Gros Islet MP Announces Projects Planned For Constituency

On Wednesday 8th March 2023, at the re-opening of the Gros Islet jetty. Minister for Youth and Sports Development Hon. Kenson Casimir took the opportunity to disclose his development plans for his constituency, Gros Islet. 

He states that private sector investments are key to the development of the constituency and that more corporate assistance is needed. 

“It is very difficult for Saint Lucia to operate in the silo and without corporate sponsors coming on board.” he says. 

The minister announced that the Gros Islet playing field will be upgraded with new stands and coverings along with intentions to increase visitor engagement in Gros Islet. He says new Mooring Stations will be installed along the coast to increase the number of yachts that are able to dock, thus allowing residents the opportunity to increase their earnings from foreign exchange. 

Improving the condition of the community park & creating a social space is also in the MPs’ future plans.

The minister says that these plans will commence after this year’s budget of estimates of revenue and expenditure.
