NCA Supports Government’s Minimum Wage Initiative

The National Consumer Association (NCA) announced its full support for the government’s decision to raise the minimum wage. The initiative is expected to benefit thousands of workers nationwide.

NCA President Dr. Thecla Fitz-Lewis praised the move, highlighting its potential to improve the purchasing power of lower-income workers. “This measure will provide a much-needed boost to the purchasing power of thousands of workers across the nation,” Dr Fitz-Lewis said.

She emphasized the positive economic impact. Additionally, she noted that a higher minimum wage would lead to increased consumer spending, benefiting businesses and stimulating economic growth. “A higher minimum wage means more disposable income for workers, which in turn stimulates economic growth by increasing consumer spending,” she explained.

Finally, Dr. Fitz-Lewis highlighted the wage hike’s role in reducing income inequality and promoting fairer economic participation. She commended the government for its bold action and reaffirmed the NCA’s commitment to supporting policies that prioritize consumer welfare and economic empowerment.
