The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Joseph Napier recently offloaded over 1,115 pounds of cocaine in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The cocaine, seized in international Caribbean waters, has an estimated street value of $14.7 million, according to a Coast Guard statement. The operation involved a U.S. Coast Guard law enforcement team working aboard a British Royal Navy ship, in collaboration with various interagency and international partners.
Following the seizure, three suspected smugglers are now facing prosecution by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Puerto Rico.
