The victim of Fond Assau shooting has been identified as 17-year-old Alva Cole, of Girard Cacao, Babonneau.
Cole was fatally shot Sunday night, leaving the community and his family in shock. Police received reports of the shooting at approximately 9:20p.m. Officers arrived at the scene to find the lifeless body of Alva Cole with a gunshot wound to the head.
Emergency responders from the St Lucia Fire Service attended to Cole, but he was pronounced dead by a medical professional shortly after. The Royal St Lucia Police Force is urging anyone with information to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 456-3754 or the Babonneau Police Station at 456-4120. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the Crime Hotline (555) or the RSLPF Crime Hotline App.
The violent death has left Cole’s family devastated. His mother, Rosemary John, is struggling to comprehend the loss. “He never disrespected people. I don’t know why he would be targeted in that way. Sometimes it’s the friends you follow too,” John said, her voice filled with sorrow.
The unfortunate tragedy is recorded as St Lucia’s 53rd homicide for the year.
