The Disaster Vulnerability Reduction Project (DVRP) is proud to announce the completion of the Piaye Community Centre. The construction of the Community Centre is one of many facilitated by the DVRP. The DVRP’s aim is to reduce Saint Lucia’s vulnerability to climate change and natural disasters.
The first of these community centres was completed in September of 2022 in Odsan. The Community Centre will eventually serve as a human resource development centre, training facility and emergency shelter. The 11,000 square foot structure will include a rainwater harvesting system, energy efficient lights, solar heating an IT Room, a theatre, a bar and bathrooms for males, females and different abled persons.
The team of Triple L Co. Ltd and Theobalds Consulting are also responsible for the construction of the Roblot Community Centre.
