Emergency Personnel attached to the Gros Islet Fire Station responded to a fire at Morne Serpent, Gros Islet at approximately 1:30 pm.
On arrival, they found a single-story wooden house engulfed in flames and a 10-year-old lifeless body on the scene.
The 10-year-old is said to be a student of the Dunnottar School.
The body of the young boy is said to have sustained severe burns.
The SLFS quickly contained the fire which did not cause damage to nearby properties.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
