Officers attached to the Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) headquarters in Castries responded to a distress call at approximately 9:30 am on Sunday, April 30th, 2023.
It was reported a minibus’s brakes had failed and collided with another vehicle and struck a female pedestrian at Barnard Hill, Castries.
The female pedestrian has since then been identified as forty-seven-year-old Ericka Franklin.
Franklin had been in a coma since the day of the incident and succumbed to her injuries on Sunday at approximately 3:45 am.
