The year 2023 has been designated as the year of the youth by countries of the Commonwealth. This year will be dedicated to youth development and leadership.
Minister for Youth Development hon. Kenson Casimir says amongst the many activities which are geared to take place within the span of April-December, it is important to start and end the activities with a gospel celebration as a need for spirituality is most significant during this time.
“Commonwealth has designated the year 2023 as the year of the youth and so we have a number of activities that will span from April all the way to December in celebration of young people. We are kicking things off with a gospel celebration, we know that we need more spirituality in this land and so you I’ll see that happen and we will end in December as well with a gospel celebration.” he shared.
He says all activities planned will be geared towards safety and security, bringing young people together and youth development.
“We have a number of activities planned all towards safety and security and bringing young people together which is one of the areas of focus for the ministry, for the national youth council and for the other aspects of youth development in Saint Lucia.” he continued.
2023 is being deemed the year of the youth.
