Caribbean Galaxy Donates 400,000USD to OKEU as Part of Social Responsibility

Caribbean Galaxy Real Estate has indicated that they will partner with the government as a corporate social responsibility action to assist us in achieving that objective,” announced Tourism Minister Dr Ernest Hilaire at a pre-cabinet press briefing on Monday.

The government has indicated that it plans on completing the 5th wing of the OKEU Hospital as part of its plan to improve healthcare service delivery at the institution. An expensive endeavour, Tourism Minister Hilaire says the Citizenship by Investment Unit will play its role in aiding the government in completing the hospital.

Caribbean Galaxy Real Estate, the developer completing the Canelles Resort, has come on board and will make donations to the government towards the Hospital’s expansion. “They’ve made available to the government $400,000USD as a first contribution to allow the board of the Millennium Heights Medical Complex to be able to commence preparing for the expansion,” he said.

Often described as the 5th “finger” of the hospital, the aerial view of the hospital should like a hand outstretched with the 5 wings serving as fingers. These designs are still in play, he says, but need to be updated.

As you can imagine, we would have had designs for all the fingers, so there should be some preliminary designs there, but it would have to be reviewed, it would have to be updated in terms of the costings, because since then the price of construction materials and other services would have changed.”

A set commencement date has not yet been determined for the expansion of the OKEU Hospital.
