The Association of the Caribbean Commissioners (ACCP) and the Amalgamated Security Services Limited (ASSL) held its yearly awards programme on Monday, May 22, 2023, at the Hyatt Hotel in Trinidad and Tobago. The awards programme recognized a total of nine outstanding Police Officers from the member countries of the ACCP countries. Inspector Shervon Matthieu, Inspector in Charge of the Criminal Investigations Department, Castries, Royal Saint Lucia Police Force won the Top Caribbean Crime Fighter award. He received a trophy, a certificate and a cash prize of five thousand (US $5000.00) dollars.
Inspector Shervon Matthieu decided to donate his prize earnings to three institutions that are close to his heart namely; the Marian Home, at Leslie Land, Castries which provides care and shelter for the elderly, the Childrens Home at Ciceron which supports orphans and vulnerable children and the Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary School which is his alma mater.
After each donation, the organizations expressed gratitude to Inspector Shervon Matthieu for his generous donation. They expressed how the donations would make a major impact on their operations and continued programs.
