Emergency personnel attached to the Vieux Fort Fire Service received a call for assistance at about 2:20 pm on Thursday 9th June, 2023 in regards to a suspected drowning at Coco Dan Beach, Vieux Fort.
Marine Police retrieved the body of the male said to be in his late twenties from the ocean at about 4:00 pm.
Efforts to revive the victim were unsuccessful and he was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
