The Ministry of Infrastructure, Ports, Transport, Physical Development, and Urban Renewal has launched a new traffic management system at Pointe Seraphine. The system aims to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion at the busy duty-free complex, which welcomes hundreds of visitors and locals during the cruise season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Consultations and Planning\u00a0<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
This initiative follows a series of consultations held in October 2023 with various stakeholders. Prior to the new system, traffic at Pointe Seraphine experienced significant delays, especially at the start of the cruise season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
How the System Works\u00a0<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Commuters approaching the ports will now follow a two-way road up to the Financial Administrative Centre. After this point, vehicles heading toward the duty-free complex must exit via Seraphine Road, continuing onto the John Compton Highway. This transition into a one-way system eliminates the confusion caused by two-way traffic in the high-density area. <\/p>\n\n\n
The one-way system directs vehicles in a single, clear direction, helping to prevent congestion. It allows for smoother traffic movement, minimizing bottlenecks near the port. The new route ensures a more efficient journey, with fewer stops and less driver frustration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The updated traffic system includes clear signage and road markings to guide drivers. Vehicles are directed onto the one-way section as they approach the port, ensuring smooth navigation through the area.
